Choosing Jewelry for a New Piercing

When choosing Jewelry for a "Brand New Piercing", it can be exciting and scary at the same time.

There's so much to choose from! So many styles, colors, materials and sizes! It can get confusing.

We can break it down and start with the basic questions.

  • Would you like to start with a Hoop/Ring? Or a Stud?

  • Will you have to change it after a period of time?

  • Does it have to be "basic"?

  • What's the jewelry that we use, made of?

A) Hoop/Ring? Or a Stud? You can start with either or. As long as you understand that whichever you start with, the length (if a bar/post) or diameter (hoop/ring), will be a little longer/larger to accommodate swelling, etc. B) Will you have to change it after a period of time? It is strongly suggested that you change the length/diameter of your jewelry once your swelling, etc has either gone down or you're healed. Each piercing has it's own con to not shortening length/diameter. Some include: ripping, catching, protruding, biting, chipping, migration, indention, etc.

C)Does it HAVE to be basic? HELL NO....but within reason. You can choose from a variety of colors, gems, etc. Just keep in mind... regardless if it's a ring/stud... it's gonna be longer and/or stick out a bit. D) What is the jewelry we use made of? We only use/carry Internally threaded and threadless posts. Majority of our rings are hinged or fixed. The material is implant grade titanium or nickel free gold.
